Perla Delson

Perla is the founder of Studio Delson where she sets the firm’s creative direction and design standards for excellence. She leads the studio as an expert in both space planning and detailed design. Her intellectual rigor and love of visual arts inform the practice. Her collaboration with clients and team members maintains the firm’s high quality of service from design through construction.

Prior to founding Studio Delson, Perla Delson was co-founder and principal architect of Delson or Sherman Architects for over 25 years. Before that, she was Assistant Museum Architect and Capital Projects Manager at the Brooklyn Museum. As in-house architect, she oversaw planning and relocation of the museum’s departments and collections in preparation for their masterplan project and articulated the institution’s needs to the masterplan architects throughout the phased project.

Perla is an active volunteer, and her focus on facilities and fundraising gives her an ability to articulate the goals of the institutions and the constituencies she serves. Perla Delson is a member of the Board of Directors of Brooklyn Community Housing & Services. She’s also currently Alumnae Co-Chair for the Brearley Fund; she served on the Brearley School’s Alumnae Board and was an advisor on the Ad Hoc Search Committee and architectural task force, making recommendations to the Head of School for their recent $85M construction project. She has been Parent Co-Chair of Annual Giving at Packer Collegiate Institute and is a past board member of the Dodge YMCA.

Perla received a Master of Architecture from Yale University’s School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College. She is a licensed architect in New York State and a LEED AP.
